Health Benefits of Vitamin D


Recent research confirms that D may be essential for a wide variety of conditions including colon cancer prevention, diabetes, fatigue, muscle weakness, breast cancer, fibromyalgia, and generalized weakness as we age. Research has also recently shown that with age our skin becomes less productive to allow sunlight to produce vitamin D, so a more pronounced deficiency, which puts us at risk of fatigue, weakness and cancer.

Vitamin D was investigated in the Harvard Medical School and published in the May issue of Archives of Internal Medicine. Researchers collected data from more than 10,500 women over ten years found that those with a constant intake of vitamin D and calcium had a 30 percent lower risk of developing breast cancer.
