Skin Care Tips For Road Trips

When the holidays approach, many of us start thinking about road trips to visit family. These long trips in the car for hours a day disrupt our normal routines. Our skin often suffers because we can not care for it, just as we do when we are home and can become dehydrated and dull.

Here are some tips that can help keep your skin radiant, even when you're on the road for hours or even days at a time:

EAT FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.

Of course it is not so easy to find fresh produce on the road. However, you can pack a bag of apples and a bag of oranges before leaving. They travel well and will remain edible for a few days even without refrigeration. If you are lucky enough to find rest stops with other fresh fruits and raw vegetables on the road, crushing and eat them, too. Opt for salads at fast food places, instead of greasy burgers and fries. Several fast food chains like McDonald's and Jack in the Box offer salad options.

You may be reluctant to drink water all you need when you're on the road, that makes you have to stop to go to the bathroom very often. High water content fruits and vegetables your body needs moisture without causing you to have to stop every hour.

According to Dr. Howard Murad, author of The Secret water water that "eat" when we eat fruits and vegetables is water that provide a slow, steady infusion as digestion. It is also the water that nourishes our cells, even better than the water we drink. Murad explained that much of our drinking water passes through our system, but the water from fruits high in vegetables and water stays in our bodies for longer. So eat an apple or an orange, or better yet, both, a couple of times a day and get the moisture it needs, but you will not have to go to the bathroom as often as you would if you were hydrating with plain water . An added benefit: According to Dr. Murad, hydration obtained from fresh fruit helps your skin look younger. Read More
